Rosarito is a coastal resort city in the Mexican state of Baja California situated about ten miles south of the U.S. border in Rosarito Seaside Municipality. Frequently mistakenly known as Rosarito Seaside simply because of the properly–identified Rosarito Seaside Hotel, the town of Rosarito is one component of the municipality named Playas de Rosarito (“Beaches of Rosarito”).
Its beaches, latina escorts and dance clubs are a popular destination for young men and women from the United States in the course of the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Rosarito Seaside is the seat of the municipality of Rosarito Seaside. The city is the 2nd largest in the Tijuana metropolitan region and southern seaside city of the San Diego–Tijuana international metropolitan region.
It is the westernmost municipal seat in Mexico, slightly farther west than neighboring Tijuana, which lies inland to its north-northeast. As of 2010, the city had a population of 65,278.
Rosarito has historically been centered on tourism and Rosarito escorts. It began with the Ortiz family’s establishment of Rene’s (Bar, Restaurant, Trailer Park and Motel) in 1925. Rene served his town holding the place Delegado (Mayor) a lot more than any other politician in Rosarito. Rene, a prominent businessman, assisted develop Rosarito from a ranch to a town which later grew to become a city. When Rene was not in a position to serve his men and women any longer he chose as his successor Hugo Torres Chabert, a buddy and owner of Hotel Rosarito. In September 1996, James Cameron’s manufacturing team moved to the newly constructed Fox Baja Studios in Rosarito, in which a complete scale RMS Titanic had been constructed for the 1997 film, in which Fox acquired forty acres of waterfront south of Rosarito Seaside.
